Broad Agency Announcement 2018
FRA’s Office of Research, Development & Technology is dedicated to conducting research that improves railroad safety, promotes innovation, and supports national rail transportation policy. These efforts further the U.S. Department of Transportation strategic goals, FRA’s mission, and the rail industry as a whole.
FRA is releasing the Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) to solicit proposals on a variety of research topic areas that will have a direct impact on the safety and efficiency of freight and passenger rail operations in the United States. The submissions will then undergo evaluation and selection by the Office of Research, Development & Technology.
This year, there are two BAAs:
- The first is a general announcement with a listing for multiple research topics organized by FRA’s four research areas of Track, Rolling Stock and Equipment, Train Control, and Human Factors.
