This graphic represents a summary of overall PTC implementation status, as reported in railroads' quarterly PTC progress report, and is not intended to show detailed implementation progress.
Spectrum ± Minus Legend Icon Spectrum is not fully acquired and not fully available for use Plus Legend Icon Spectrum is acquired but not fully available for use Check Legend Icon Spectrum is fully acquired and available for use N/A E-ATC indicates the railroad is using an E-ATC system, which does not require spectrum. PTC-220 indicates that the railroad is leasing spectrum from PTC-220, LLC. CBTC indicates the railroad is using a CBTC system, which uses a different spectrum frequency
Route Miles in Revenue Service Demonstration (RSD) § N/A indicates the railroad (or its host railroad) has obtained at least conditional PTC System Certification and is no longer operating in RSD. In such cases, please see Route Miles in PTC Operation
PTC Safety Plan ¥ Minus Legend Icon Railroad has not submitted PTCSP to FRA Plus Legend Icon Railroad has submitted its PTCSP to FRA. Please see below for whether FRA has conditionally approved the PTCSP and issued conditional PTC System Certification Check Legend Icon Railroad's PTCSP has been submitted, and FRA has issued PTC System Certification, without conditions
