ABSTRACT: FRA is revising the regulations regarding the use and design of two-way end-of-train telemetry devices (two-way EOTs) to specifically address certain passenger train operations where multiple units of freight-type equipment, material handling cars, or express cars are part of a passenger train�s consist. Trains of this nature are currently being operated by the National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak), and these revisions are intended to clarify and address the applicability of the two-way EOT requirements to these types of operations.
