ABSTRACT: This document describes the results of a job analysis that was conducted for the position of railroad Passenger Conductor. Key aspects of the position were identified, including main tasks and knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics (KSAOs) required to perform the job successfully. The job analysis process is described in detail, including meeting agendas, survey questionnaires, and a finalized list of job tasks and KSAOs identified by subject matter experts (SMEs). Conclusions report the specific results of the job analysis, including information from SME focus group discussions regarding demands and strains of the job. Implications for training and development are also discussed.
