ABSTRACT: This report presents a suggested test procedure for measuring the radiated electromagnetic interference emanating from rail transit vehicles with electric propulsion. Testing rail transit vehicles for EMI poses unique problems not covered by existing EMI testing standards such as the MIL-STD's. The suggested test procedure presented here describes standard physical and operational configurations for testing, along with recommended measuring equipment capable of rapid and automated data acquisition and analysis. The procedure has built-in steps to document the limits of accuracy and validity of the data obtained.
