ABSTRACT: The International Conference on Wheel/Rail Load and Displacement Measurement Techniques was held at the Transportation Systems Center (TSC) on January 19-20, 1981. The Conference was sponsored by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Transport Canada. The U.S. DOT agencies involved in the sponsorship include the Urban Mass Transportation Administration (UMTA), the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), and the Research and Special Programs Administration (RSPA). The objective of the Conference was to review the state-of-the-art and provide a forum for information exchange in the field of wheel/rail loading and movement of track due to vehicle/track interactions under diverse loading conditions. This document contains session transcripts, papers, and discussions.
