ABSTRACT: This technical report summarizes the results of noise tests carried out during November 1999 at the Transportation Technology Center (TTC) in Pueblo, Colorado. The tests were performed by Harris Miller Miller & Hanson Inc. (HMMH) and akustik-data Engineering Office (A-D) under sub-contract to PTG-De Leuw, Cather, on behalf of the U.S. Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). The objective of the tests was to identify the noise levels and location of noise sources from Amtrakā€™s new High-Speed Trainset (HST). The tests were conducted in accordance with FRA requirements in the Record of Decision (ROD) and Final Environmental Impact Statement/Report (FEIS/R) for the Northeast Corridor Improvement Project (NECIP) Electrification from New Haven, CT to Boston, MA.
