ABSTRACT: A northbound Union Pacific Railroad (UP) freight train collided with an automobile traveling eastbound at a highway-rail grade crossing on October 12, 2014, at 1:35 a.m., CST. The accident occurred in White Castle, Louisiana, at UP Milepost 75.2, on the UP Livonia Subdivision. The motor vehicle driver and both passengers were killed. The automobile was completely destroyed. There were no injuries to the train crew. The leading locomotive sustained minor damage of about $1,000 and about $26,200 damage to the track signal equipment occurred. No cars or locomotives derailed.
