ABSTRACT: In response to the successful 2008 and 2012 Trespasser Workshops, Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) sponsored the 2015 Right-of-Way (ROW) Fatality and Trespass Prevention workshop to keep up the momentum that had been previously established. The FRA Administrator (who was Acting Administrator at the time), gave the keynote speech, which was followed by 23 technical presentations in the areas of pedestrian safety; community outreach and education; design technology and infrastructure; enforcement; and intentional deaths or acts. Workshop attendees broke into working groups and developed prioritized recommended actions for their respective topics. The groups generated more than 110 ideas that covered new or expanded initiatives, strategies, and research projects. Finally, each group selected three to five top recommended actions for its respective topic area, which resulted in identifying 24 high-priority recommended actions.
